Chowbent Science Trips

EYFS and KS1 enjoyed a brilliant trip to Chester Zoo. They looked at animals in their habitats, animal parts, and animal food and nutrition. A brilliant day out was had by all.

Y6 visited Bolton School to take part in a STEM workshop with lots of other local schools. They had a brilliant day and loved the challenges that were on offer. We can’t wait for the next one!

Reception, Y1 and Y2 enjoyed a fantastic day at Imagine That! They made slime, made circuits, investigated forces and played in a wide variety of role play areas. Everyone had a brilliant day!

Chowbent Science Events

We have enjoyed planting peas in the planters around the school playground  to enhance the school grounds. We can’t wait to see how they grow!

The Smoothie Bike stopped by at Chowbent. We discussed the Healthy food plate and what ingredients could go into a smoothie. We then used our energy to make our drinks. A great workout with a well deserved reward 🥤

Dogs Trust came into school recently to talk to every class about how to keep dogs healthy and well and how to stay safe around dogs. We had a lovely morning!

Cats Protection League came in to talk to every class about how to look after cats and keep them safe. They also spoke to us about staying safe around cats. It was very informative, thank you Cats Protection League.

Reel Education came into school for a 3 week programme with every year group teaching them about Fishing. Children learnt how to identify fish, about our waterways and how to look after them. They also looked at predators and consumers and various food chains that involve fish. A lucky couple of children were chosen to represent the school at ‘Partridge Lakes’ in Culcheth for a real life fishing competition.
