At Chowbent we teach comprehension discretely in a set sequence of activities from Year 1 to Year 6. This can happen weekly in KS2 or alternating with writing activities in KS1. Texts are linked to themes or writing genres with a good mix of fiction and non-fiction examples. Upper KS2 read longer texts to help build up their reading stamina.
